Integrating Zapier with SuperPhone®
Integrating Zapier with SuperPhone®
Updated over a week ago

If you're looking to increase productivity we've found that leveraging the power of Zapier can take your business to the next level. We will cover some of our customer's more popular applications and show you how you can integrate them with SuperPhone®

Start by Signing Up or Logging In to Zapier. If you are creating your account for the first time you will have a few options that should make the process a little easier. You can use your Google, Facebook, or Microsoft should you already have one. This can help to streamline your process. If you do not want to use any of those options you would still have the ability to manually enter another email option.

Once you have logged in it is time to create your new Zap! There are a few ways to complete this step. One option would be to use Zapier's AI Generator. See the examples they provide for the appropriate formatting.

Another option would be to manually create your Zap. You will want to look for the orange "+" or Create Zap button on the left-hand menu.

Now you need to select the action or trigger from your non-SuperPhone® application. Click on the 1. Trigger button to begin. This step is important because you will want to identify if the action starts with your SuperPhone® account or the 3rd party application you are looking to integrate with. For example, if you are wanting all RSVP's from your 3rd party event application to trigger a new contact in your SuperPhone® then you will want
to select your 3rd party application first.

Next you will want to search for the name of the application you are looking to integrate with your SuperPhone®, as mentioned in the previous step, or SuperPhone® itself if that is the application that will be triggering the action.

Once you have located the application you are looking to use, click on the name of the application. You will then be presented with an Event dropdown field that will allow you to choose from the different integrations that application has to trigger an action. Options may be limited so please review the options to make sure that the action you are looking for is available. You do have the ability to search or scroll if there are a greater number of options available.

If you are wanting to use SuperPhone® as the trigger you will be provided the following Event options.

Once you have selected the event that you would like to have trigger the action, you will want to select the Continue button.

Next you will be prompted to connect or log into your account associated with the application you selected. If you are not logged into your account already that is ok because Zapier will prompt you on the necessary steps to get your account integrated.

When you are connecting to your SuperPhone® account you will be prompted for the information in the image below. You will need your Public API key which can be located at https://app.superphone.io/public-api.

Once on your Public API page you will want to click the Copy to Clipboard icon.

Paste this Public API key and select the Orange button that will say Yes, Continue to the name of the application you are looking to connect to.

After you added your Public API Key successfully, you will be asked to Continue through the process within Zapier.

The last steps will vary depending on the Trigger Event you selected. In some cases you will have additional information that you will need in order to complete your Zap. Once that information is provided, or if there is no additional information needed, then you will be taken to the last step that will Test the newly created trigger.

The Test trigger will return some results that you will need to review and select one of the results returned so Zapier can use that record to help complete the next phase, 2. Action, of the integration. You should be immediately prompted to search for the remaining application needed but if you are not then you will want to select 2. Action.

Next you will want to search for the name of the application you are looking to integrate with your SuperPhone®, as mentioned in the previous step, or SuperPhone® itself if that is the application that will be doing the action.

If you are wanting to use SuperPhone® as the 2. Action you will be provided the following Event options.

Things to consider:

If you click the Revoke or Regenerate Key buttons on your Public API you will need to go back through all of your Zaps and update the Public Key in order to keep you Zaps functioning properly.

  • We don't advise using SuperPhone® in both the 1. Trigger and 2. Action of your Zap to do any actions but rather use the Automations feature within SuperPhone® itself.

  • There are limits within Zapier for the free version so you will want to use Zaps where applicable necessary or consider Upgrading your Zapier account.
